Sr. Network Infrastructure Consultant

As a Senior Network Infrastructure Consultant, you will focus mainly on serving clients with planning, designing, and implementing converged network and security infrastructures. From a planning perspective, you will work with clients to understand key business objectives and drivers, and align network capabilities with those requirements to develop an overall network, security, and collaboration strategy. Design involves working with clients and network hardware/service vendors to engineer the network infrastructure and security solution based on client guidelines and requirements. Implementation activities involve building and configuring the network infrastructure and security solution components, and migrating to the new environment. As an ideal candidate for this position, you will need to possess knowledge and experience in architecting, engineering, and deploying network infrastructure and security solutions, and should have technical experience (hands-on implementation) in these areas. In addition, you should also possess strong project management and work planning skills, and the ability to interact with client personnel at all levels, as well as understand the network implications of business requirements.

What will you be doing?

  • Performing assessments of existing client network infrastructures and document "as-is" environments
  • Developing detailed network designs in the areas of data (LAN, WAN and data center), voice (VoIP and unified communications), security (firewalls, IPS/IDS and NAC) services, and wireless (802.11n/ac)
  • Implementing routers, switches, and firewalls with associated configuration such as dynamic routing (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), MPLS, ACL, NAT, VPN tunnels, IDS/IPS and other services
  • Implementing load balancers, WAN accelerators, and other application centric network based services
  • Implementing redundant and highly available network infrastructures and voice solutions
  • Providing hands-on engineering, configuration, testing, operations support
  • Performing network level tuning and diagnostics for complex issue resolution
  • Configuring network device monitoring services such as SNMP, NetFlow, JFlow, IPFIX, etc. and managing network monitoring tools
  • Assessing current state client business processes, gathering and defining business and technology requirements, and engineering new business processes, capabilities, and supporting technologies for clients
  • Evaluating, recommending, and implementing new business processes and technology that enable and drive client performance
  • Collaborating directly with clients and project teams to implement processes and technology that support various technical and business functions
  • Learning and participating in the business development and sales process by assisting with project proposals, presentations, and new client activities
  • Taking a thought leadership role within the practice by contributing to the development of approaches, methodologies, and solutions for client engagements
  • Working with clients to develop high-level network strategies
  • Planning and leading network design, implementation and migration projects
  • Organizing project work into client presentations outlining findings and recommendations
  • Performing project management activities including work planning, status reporting, client relationship management, and project financial management
  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients
  • Participating in internal and client-facing meetings, prepare reports and presentations
  • Developing internal white papers and knowledge capital on network technology topics

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or other related field
  • 3-5 years of experience designing and implementing networking solutions
  • 1+ total years of consulting experience is preferred
  • Associate level Cisco certification (CCNA) or other equivalent level industry certifications (Juniper JNCIA, Alcatel Lucent NRS I, etc.)
  • Professional level Cisco certification (CCNP, CCDA) or other equivalent level industry certification (Juniper JCNIP, Alcatel Lucent NRS II, etc.) is preferred
  • Hands-on experience configuring Cisco routers, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, and Cisco ASA firewalls
  • Experience working with MPLS, SONET, legacy TDM, and microwave wireless networking is welcome
  • Hands-on experience configuring application load balancer products such as F5 BIG-IP and Citrix NetScaler, WAN acceleration products such Cisco WaaS, Citrix CloudBridge and RiverBed SteelHead, and IDP/IPS products such as Cisco SourceFire is desired
  • Systems and network management experience with knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds Orion, PRTG, Microsoft SCOM, Sciencelogic EM7, Zabbix, or other common industry solutions is desiredWillingness to travel for out of town client engagements, at least 50%
